2025 Winter Newsletter

Attention Horse Owners:
We will begin accepting reservations again for stall rentals and day riding after 12/14/25. Guided trail rides are operating on a regular schedule.
Upon check-in at our Visitor Center, Owners must provide current vaccination records and Coggins certificates prior to unloading. Per veterinary recommendations and the American Association of Equine Practitioners, we will need proof of the following vaccines before unloading:
We request that horse owners take temperatures twice a day, 2 to 3 days prior to arriving and every day they are here, as this is proving the most effective way of indicating the spread of the virus.
Guests are required to bring their own water buckets, feed buckets, muck buckets and pitchforks. Guests must take them with them when they go. We will provide a receptacle to dump manure. Guests are responsible for the complete removal of all hay and manure from stalls upon departure.
Horses will be restricted to West Barn stalls only. No turnout area will be provided. Please practice bio-safety procedures while on the property. Keep your horses to themselves and do not interact with other horses on the property.
All out-of-state guests must have a 30-day health certificate. Extended EECVI health certificates are not allowed.
If you have any questions about your horse or any in your herd being possibly exposed or sick, please don’t come.
Out of an abundance of caution, we regret to inform you that Leatherwood Mountains Resort will not be allowing any haul-in horse traffic for the next two weeks, through 12/7/25 (stalls or day riding), due to concerns about equine health and safety following the recent outbreak of a new strain of the EHV-1 virus.
Guided trail riding is operating on the regular schedule.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. at 336-973-5044
