Mountain Vista is a charming cabin nestled in Leatherwood Mountains Resort, offering access to horseback riding, dining, tubing, biking, trails, and fly fishing. Enjoy stunning mountain views from the porch swing or rockers, grill out on the spacious deck, or soak under the stars in the hot tub.
Inside, the open floor plan offers comfort and space for all. The cabin features a king master suite on the main floor, queen suites on both upper and lower levels, a queen sleeper sofa in the loft, and a rec room with pool, ping pong, and foosball. Whether you're planning a romantic escape, girls' weekend, family gathering, or motorcycle adventure, Mountain Vista invites you to relax, explore, and return again and again.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).
Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

by CummingsWe are very disappointed that we cant return to this lovely cabin in 2026. It had all the amenities you could ask for in a clean, spacious, well maintained and relaxing house. The front and back decks were favorite spots for relaxing and enjoying the views. My granddaughters spent a lot of time at the pool table and enjoyed having the basement room to themselves. We felt we were on top of the mountain as our views were so beautiful. We ended up having our breakfasts out on the covered back deck. I can\'t imagine another cabin being this nice.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We love Leatherwood Mountain Resort. Mountain Vista is a wonderful cabin with a nice view. We appreciated that the cabin had both a front and back porch to relax and breathe in the cool mountain air. Mountain Vista was well-equipped, well-maintained and very clean. This was our second stay in this cabin, and we will definitely visit again.

Great vacation in the mountains

This was our first visit to the area and although the weather didn't cooperate with some of our outdoor plans we had a terrific time. Abbie's cabin is very comfortable and an added bonus is it's pet friendly. Having a fenced-in backyard and a deck made for a great experience.

Great house, tight roads

This was a great property in a very serene and secluded area. It's about 45 min from Blowing Rock and an hour from all the Yadkin wineries. Property was roomy, clean and in good shape. The only area that was a concern was the narrow roads, with steep drops,especially at night, made for some nervous moments. We would surely stay here again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay in Leatherwood Mountains lovely resort property. We enjoyed staying at the Mountain Vista cabin - especially the porch swing and back deck with a bit of view of the mountains, the pool table and hot tub, the large open living and kitchen area. The cabin could definitely use some deep cleaning and some hospitality TLC - but fit our needs for the week. We also enjoyed the community pool and gift shop and one meal at the restaurant w/concert. We enjoyed hiking - there were trail maps but the trails were not real easy to navigate - be sure to ask at the front desk - the app they recommend helps some too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were prepared for the steep narrow roads to get up to the cabin - only one way down so need to be calculated in timing your trips up and down the mountain. We did not ride the horses as it was really a hot week. The "tubing" is mostly for children. We took day trips to Boone/Blowing Rock, Wilkesboro area and the Raffaldini Vineyards (lovely!). We will have wonderful memories of our time there.

Wonderful mountain getaway!

We took this trip for a peaceful, mountain getaway and we were not disappointed. The house had everything we needed and more. I have never been to rental that was so well stocked. The kids loved the hot tub and we had a fantastic time in the downstairs game room. We played for hours! The house is perfectly located for great views and quietness. The kids proclaimed that we were moving there! We wish!!
Believe them when they say it is remote. Nearest grocery store is a good 30 miles away. Bring everything you need with you when you come. Once you get there you will never want to leave anyway!!

Perfect mix of relaxation and fun

Our family enjoyed a week at this gorgeous property. The views were stunning, the game room kept the kids entertained, and everything was so clean and comfortable! It was the perfect place to go to unwind but also have fun. The community pool is nice but small. We had it all to ourselves on a couple of occasions. But with other people present it felt a little awkward and crowded. The closest grocery is 1/2 hour away, so I recommend stocking up. The house was well stocked with spices for cooking. We would absolutely recommend it!
