This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

Perfect Getaway

Amazing cabin. Had all the amenities you could ask for! Clean and spacious. It was so peaceful, you could hear the creek trickling across the path. Loved the horseback riding and fishing - perfect for a family vacation!

Thanksgiving at Hounds Retreat

We had a great time relaxing and enjoying family time at Hounds Retreat. Kitchen was well stocked even for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of sleeping areas. Loved having a fire going each day in the fireplace. Walking distance to pool, tennis courts, trails and even the restaurant. Hard to find entrance in the dark as it\'s in a hairpin turn.

Thanksgiving Week at Hounds Retreat

Overall, we had the best time and can't wait to come back. It's a very cute, and cozy cabin that gave us a great Thanksgiving week with family. We especially loved the horses, seeing the deer, running in the meadow, and listening to the creek and birds. Leatherwood is a little slice of heaven. Thank you for a great vacation.
